Midsouth Chamber of Commerce Essay
Midsouth Chamber of Commerce (A) Wednesday August 24, 2010 Brian Putallaz Midsouth Chamber of Commerce, a not-for-profit, part determined, business promotion bunch is in the procedures of updating their present data framework. Midsouth has chosen they have to overhaul their data framework to an all the more as of now framework, so as to expand income creating openings. Their unique IS framework was worked by an outside specialist (who is no longer in business) on a departmental need base, as opposed to an extensive need. The first framework was established in 1987, with changes done in 1993, and 1995. During this time everything IS choice were made by outside experts, since there were no in house IT faculty. Throughout the spring of 1996 the choice was made to enlist Simon Kovecki as a frameworks examination. Simon came to MSCC straight out of school and without each working with a participation association or working with bookkeeping programming. He was put in a troublesome situation since the organization which initially fabricated the framework, was out of usiness so he had no ââ¬Ëroad mapâ⬠on how the product was assembled. In 1998 there was redesign and all PC framework was put under Jeff Hedges space. This again positioned Simon in troublesome position since Mr. Supports was as Vice President of Public Finance. Mr. Fences came up short on an innovation foundation and regularly wound up enveloped with different undertakings and too occupied to even consider attending to the innovation side of his obligations. The redesign would have been an ideal chance to add an IS chief to the positions of upper administration, yet MSCC declined to do as such. Later in 1998 a choice was made to move to a total new framework, an AS 400 framework called UNITRAK. This specific organization was picked by Leon Lassiter and was ineffectively reviewed. The product was in its early stages, they had just sold 1 duplicate, and changes were all the while being made to the product. During the determination procedure the MSCC IS examination Mr. Kovecki, was to a great extent disregarded, just as end clients of the framework. In mid 1999 the choice was made by the board to push ahead with buying and actualizing the UNITRAK framework. Thing turned out poorly, Kovecki needed undertaking anagement abilities and appropriate direction from above. Because of the absence of an IS supervisor in the positions of upper administration there was nobody to keep the undertaking on target. This brought about a poor movement that was a very long time to late, information was debased and os a the new framework NITRAK was inoperable. Jack Wallingford: President of Midsouth Chamber of Commerce Ed Wilson: Vice President Public Affairs Did not appear to be keen on IS side of association. Later was key in pulling endlessly the solitary IS worker during a key time of the execution. Leon Lassiter: Vice President of Marketing/Membership Wore numerous caps for the association. While he appeared to have a dream with regards to what he needed in an IS framework, he was hazy on the most proficient method to go there. He settled on choice to go with UNITRAK and settled on some key mix-ups during his dynamic procedure. Ted Vassici: Initial data frameworks individual for MSCC, as an outside advisor He constructed and made everything IS proposal for MSCC until 1996. His organization later left business and he was not accessible for inquiries on his exclusively created oftware. Simon Kovecki: Information Systems Analysis Kovecki was the solitary IS worker, however his interests with UNITRAK were to a great extent disregarded, he was entrusted with the relocation to the new framework. Jeff Hedges: Vice President of Public Finance Though he did not have an innovation foundation, during the redesign in 1998 was put in charge for all PC frameworks inside the association. He had a dull inspired by the new UNITRAK framework. Greg Grinder: President UNITRAK Perhaps his product was to new and not exactly fit to be utilized. Out of these jobs I accept the greatest slip-up the organization made was putting PCs frameworks under Jeff Hedges. He did not have the foundation for it and didn't have the best possible vision for it. In spite of the fact that he was responsible for data frameworks, he was not engaged with picking another framework, and appeared to be for the most part worried about keeping their old bookkeeping framework unblemished. Indeed, even went similarly as calling the framework ââ¬Å"Lassiterââ¬â¢s systemâ⬠, in spite of the fact that he was accountable for IS. Fences didn't get tied up with the UNITRAK framework and he was not a hero of it. Anyway he is entrusted to executed for the association. UNITRAK was a product organization in their earliest stages and had just sold and executed their product once before MSCC. Despite the fact that they were new, they appeared to be energized at the opportunity to work with association, for example, MSCC and appeared to be extremely ready to modify their product fit the end client. A major success for them, an opportunity to see and figure out how their product would function in the field. One issue was Lassiter going about as the essential contact for UNITRAK, in spite of the fact that the workers responsible for the

Biodiesel :: Energy, Biomass
Biomass can be delegated dry biomass, (for example, wood) or the wet biomass sources, for example, natural division of residential waste, agro-modern squanders, slurries and waste water. Warm transformation or gasification of the dry biomass creates vitality. Figure 3 sums up a rough overall vitality utilization level. Almost 2 kg billion biomass is scorched ordinarily in creating nations. Particularly in India, 90% of essential vitality use is represented biomass in rustic territories (wood-56%; crop deposits 16%; fertilizer 21%). Ignition of these sources prompts high groupings of respirable particulates, gases including CO, SO2, nitrogen oxides and poisonous mixes, for example, benzene and formaldehyde [23]. The wet biomass is less reasonable for warm transformation. Biotechnological forms are included where the responses are catalyzed by microorganisms in a watery domain at low temperature and weight. Amphibian biomass presents a simple flexibility to develop in various condition s and has improved CO2 obsession went with a low nitrous oxide discharge. Some microalgal biomass is considered as a superior option sustainable power source, either earthbound or amphibian (Botryococcus braunii) (Fig. 1m). Taking into account the oil substance of numerous microalgae (Table 2) vitality recuperation from biomass can be actualized for a huge scope promptly. The photosynthetic effectiveness of amphibian biomass is a lot higher (6-8%) than that of its earthly partner (1.8-2.2%) [13]. Further, amphibian biomass presents a simple versatility to develop in various conditions either in new or marine water or in a wide scope of pH. This makes the oceanic biomass increasingly versatile or an improved CO2 obsession to manage the cost of a high biomass creation. The main practicable techniques for huge scope creation of microalgae are cylindrical photobioreactors [19] and open raceway lakes [20]. Broad examinations have been completed for the development of various marine microalga utilizing an assortment of development frameworks including open lakes and different kinds of shut photobioreactors [21, 22]. Since effectively a few articles were managed enormous scope creation, this paper didn't focus on these issues. Biomass for power age has been perceived as a significant segment of the sustainable power source program in India and this is reflected in the need joined to it by the MNES. There are specialties with considerable potential for the utilization of biomass for power age for example bagasse cogeneration in sugar plants, decentralized gasifier based diesel cogeneration frameworks in south India and biomass squander from horticultural activities or agro-ventures in concentrated geological pockets [23]. A biomass power/cogeneration limit expansion of 115 MW in six states was made in the nation during the year arriving at an aggregate force age limit of 727 MW.

Marius Petipa ( 1818-1910 ) - 1342 Words
Marius Petipa (1818-1910) Marius Petipa (1818-1910) was a French dancer, teacher and choreographer who created and revived dance works that have become vital elements of the ballet repertoire. His father Jean Petipa, a renowned Ballet Master and teacher, exposed Petipa to ballet from a young age and Marius Petipa himself said ââ¬ËAt seven I started instruction in the art of dancing in the class or my father, who broke many bows on my hands in order to acquaint me with the mysteries of choreography.ââ¬â¢ (Petipa, 1958) During his sixty year long career in Russia at the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatre, Petipa acquired experience from French Premier Maà ®tre de ballets Jules Perrot and Arthur Saint-Leon who were influential in his works. Petipa renewed the art of ballet, preserving balletââ¬â¢s classical technique at a high level earning him the title of the ââ¬ËInventor of Modern Balletââ¬â¢. To expose and discuss Petipaââ¬â¢s development of the ballet repertoire it is necessary to select evidence that outlines for and against of his contributions. To do this we must first define the state of Classical ballet before Petipa, how he changed and developed ballet, his influence and impact, and his contribution to the canon of the dance form. Prior to Petipa, Classical Ballet was in the ââ¬ËRomantic Periodââ¬â¢ of which concerned itself with the idea of aggrandising ââ¬Ësenses and emotion over reason and intellectââ¬â¢. (Llopis, 2014/2015) Ballet works in this period were based on literati and were deeply imaginative.

History Of Bretton Woods System And Jamaica - 1436 Words
HISTORY OF BRETTON WOODS SYSTEM AND JAMAICA BRETTON WOODS SYSTEM The Bretton Woods System was formed as a result of the collapse of the Golden Standard and The Great Depression. These closely related events prompted the need to establish an international monetary system, whose main aim was to revive the economies of the Post World War as well as fostering international economic relations that would end inter-war conflicts. Furthermore this historic event took place in July 1944 in New Hampshire whereby forty four nations consisting of 730 delegates came up with global institutions to solve these problems. In addition there were key individuals who played an important role in this process. First and foremost the United States Treasury Secretary Henry Morgenthau, Harry Dexter White who was the Chief Economic Advisor and lastly British Economist John Maynard Keyes. Both Keynes and White according to (about education, n.d.) believed in the ââ¬Å"creation of a system of exchange rates that would avoid competitive devaluation that had been marked in the 1930ââ¬â¢s but allow some adjustment in their value if economic fundamentals were judged to require itâ⬠. Although Keynes and White had believed in the same fundamentals or rather the same core values, they both took different approaches towards how these institutions would be implemented. On one hand Keynes believed in establishing a global central bank, termed as the ââ¬Ëclearing unionââ¬â¢ (Ghizani, n.d.) Neolithic Revolution and the Renaissance Effects on History Free Essays
The Neolithic Revolution and the Renaissance provided mankind with new ways of life. Although these advancements in architecture, agriculture, education and ideas transpired in different periods of history, they both had massive effects on our way of life today. Without these revolutions, our lives today would be unrecognizable. We will write a custom essay sample on Neolithic Revolution and the Renaissance Effects on History or any similar topic only for you Order Now Life was drastically different before the Neolithic Revolution. During the Paleolithic Period, people were nomads. They lived in groups of 20-30, and survived solely off their surroundings by hunting animals and gathering various plants. Roles ere based on gender; men hunted and women gathered plants. They developed simple tools such as spears and axes out of materials such as stone, bone and wood. Human beings lived in this manner until about 10,000 BCC, when they started to cultivate crops and domesticate animals. This is known as the Neolithic Revolution. The Neolithic Revolution is a major turning point in human history. It was a fundamental change in the way people lived. The shift from hunting gathering to agriculture led to permanent settlements, the establishment of social classes, new technologies, and the eventual rise of civilizations. Another effect of this revolution was the advanced form of a society. Class systems arose, with the Council of Elders at the top, and farms, merchants and craftsmen at the bottom. After a period of little education or values, Europe was ready for advancement. It was a time of creativity and change in Europe. The Renaissance was centered in Italy during the sass before spreading to the rest of Europe in the 1500 and sass. Achievements in art, literature, science and ideas made this period a golden age. Ideas such as Humanism became widely popular during the Renaissance. Humanism stressed the importance of education. The study of ancient Roman and Greet texts became the learning standard. Humanism also stressed the importance of focusing on the present, rather than the afterlife. People changed the way they thought of themselves, each other and the world around them. The effects of the Renaissance are still witnessed today. From architecture to mathematical theorems, the Renaissance had a long lasting effect on society. The Pythagorean Theorem, and the use of printing presses and Humanism are all examples of this. As a cultural movement, it encompassed a resurgence of learning eased on ancient texts, the development of unique perspective in painting, and gradual, yet widespread educational reform. Without the Neolithic Revolution and the Renaissance, this world would be very different. Each revolution contributed to our way of life and continues to shape it through values and educational standards. Advancements in architecture, agriculture, education and ideas back then provided a pathway towards the civilized, educated and advanced society we have today. Organizational Behavior Investigation
The vital purpose of this piece is to investigate the correlations between the behavior demonstrated by the employees in the workplace and their satisfaction levels with the jobs (Bateman Organ 1983). It should be said that it is a fascinating subject matter that is still actively being studied.Advertising We will write a custom case study sample on Organizational Behavior Investigation specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The research is so important because the impact of worker satisfaction with aspects of their jobs on their workplace behavior has not been thoroughly studied. It is especially critical to investigate the influence of this factor on voluntary commitment because it is one of the core aspects that are necessary for the workplace environment. It should be said that operational citizenship behavior is often undervalued, and many organizations struggle when trying to promote it among the employees. The information that w as collected can be used to understand the importance of certain aspects of worker satisfaction levels. It is imperative that the researchers have chosen individuals of different professions as their subjects to minimize possible errors in statistics. The questionnaire was used as a primary research method for this study (Bateman Organ 1983). A researcher has collected the information about job satisfaction levels of employees in different departments, and the instrument includes 72 items (Bateman Organ 1983). Also, supervisors have rated their behavior that was recently shown in the workplace according to a scale that consisted of 30 items (Bateman Organ 1983). Such methods of analysis as cross-legged and static were used to determine the relationships between the positive workplace attitude and all the aspects of satisfaction (Bateman Organ 1983). This approach is rather interesting and may provide essential information for further studies. The results of the analysis are very intriguing. The main findings have shown that there are most likely positive correlations between the behavior of employees and facets of satisfaction (Bateman Organ 1983). Supervision and promotions were the most important variables, and they seem to have a greater impact on the attitude of the workforce than such factors as work, co-workers, and pay levels (Bateman Organ 1983). However, it is necessary to note that researchers think that there is a need for further study because the sample size was relatively small, and the duration of the study was not as long as it has to be to receive reliable data (Bateman Organ 1983). Also, the fact that the behavior of individuals may be affected by such aspect as work environment and personal qualities should not be disregarded.Advertising Looking for case study on business economics? Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More The dissimilarity between the number of female and male particip ants also should have been addressed because the difference is significant, and it may have had an enormous impact on the outcome of the research. It is quite important to discuss the importance of some satisfaction factors. There is nothing that affects the behavior of an employee more than a comfort with supervision, and it can be viewed from the perspective of psychology. An individual strives to maximize the effectiveness of his or her or work through different activities that are not part of their responsibilities to make sure that their image is positive from the perspective of administration. Bateman and Organ (1983, p. 588) claim that ââ¬Ësupervisors presumably value such behaviors because, in part because they make their own jobs easier and free their own time and energy for more substantive tasksââ¬â¢. Differently put, the perception of an individual that demonstrates such attitude can only be positive by the administration. However, one may view such actions as unne cessary, not significant, and would not change anything if he or she is not satisfied with supervision. Also, it is not surprising that promotions have a huge influence on the behavior of the workforce. Every individual needs to be motivated, and there is nothing that motivates more than opportunities for career advancement. Voluntary commitment is viewed as one of the essential factors that affect the promotion from the point of view of both workers and administration. It is also interesting that the satisfaction with work is the least significant factor according to this study. It is possible that most individuals that participated in the study did not actually like their jobs, and it may be viewed as one of the reasons that caused such results. The impact of relationships with co-workers is also not as huge as expected. However, it should be noted that it is extremely dependent on the profession, and it was not considered during the research. Satisfaction with pay is also an impo rtant factor that did not show such big influence on the attitude of employees as others. It is quite reasonable because it should not be viewed as the best way of motivation, and it is acknowledged by managers all over the world. Nowadays, supervisors are much more interested in voluntary commitment than they used to in the past, and it is considered as a paramount aspect of the successful career. I have learned from this article that it is imperative to consider satisfaction levels of workers to make sure that they demonstrate operational citizenship behavior. It is necessary to understand the ways in which this information can be used to maximize the efficiency of employee performance management. It is essential because it is evident that there is a significant correlation between the satisfaction of the workforce with the administration and voluntary commitment.Advertising We will write a custom case study sample on Organizational Behavior Investigation specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The supervisor needs to build solid relationships with employees to make sure that they are fully committed to their jobs. Numerous factors that affect the satisfaction of workers with the administration should not be disregarded. The supervisor needs to make sure that he or she is viewed as a role model, and relationships with workers should be developed. Promotional opportunities should also be provided, and a manager needs to understand their importance. Other aspects of worker satisfaction should not be disregarded because there is a possibility that they are closely connected to each other. However, management activities should be dependent on the business and unique qualities of the employees. For example, satisfaction with pay may be a deciding factor for a group of workers, and such possibility should be considered when making decisions. Also, I have learned that it is also possible to use similar questionnaires i n an organization to determine satisfaction levels of workers. Modern software can be used to store and process collected data. It is so paramount because it is necessary to know the issues that are present in a company, and they should be addressed if they negatively affect the attitude of workers. Overall, I think that this information was quite beneficial for me, and it is imperative to use such principles in employee performance management to improve the workplace environment. They make rules that are concerning the law and both interpret the laws, they are responsible for the laws and must settle any dispute between any states that is a part of their jurisdiction. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is between states and they stands firmly on their grounds. The international laws are more tradition and a non binding. Vague, Vagrant, and Vagabond
Vague, Vagrant, and Vagabond Vague, Vagrant, and Vagabond Vague, Vagrant, and Vagabond By Mark Nichol The three words in the title above, and others that share a derivation alluding to a lack of certainty or direction, are defined and discussed in this post. The Latin adjective vagus literally means ââ¬Å"wanderingâ⬠and figuratively refers to uncertainty. The name of either of a pair of nerves that extend from the brain to the abdominal organs is taken directly from this term, and vague means ââ¬Å"uncertainâ⬠or ââ¬Å"lacking specificityâ⬠; the noun form is vagueness. Some etymological sources trace vagrant, meaning ââ¬Å"wanderer,â⬠to early Germanic languages as a cognate with walk. However, it might also be derived from the Old French term vagant, from vagari, the Latin verb form of vagus. The word, also used as an adjective, generally refers to an itinerant person with no home or steady (or legal) employment. A similar and related (and more colorful) term is vagabond, from the Latin gerund vagabundus, meaning ââ¬Å"wandering.â⬠Vagari, meanwhile, is the source of vagary, a little-used noun meaning ââ¬Å"aimless journeyâ⬠by way of the Italian word vagare (or perhaps directly from the Latin word). The plural form, vagaries, much more common, refers to unpredictability. Two other terms derived from vagari, one rare and the other obsolete, are the nouns divagate (literally, ââ¬Å"wander apartâ⬠) and evagation, meaning ââ¬Å"the act of wandering.â⬠A more prominent derivation is extravagant, which means ââ¬Å"excessiveâ⬠or ââ¬Å"extreme.â⬠Interestingly, stray, meaning ââ¬Å"wandererâ⬠as a noun (as when referring to a stray animal) and ââ¬Å"wanderâ⬠as a verb (including in the sense of deviating from proper conduct), may be derived from extravagant, though it possibly stems from Latin by way of Old French as a cognate of street. We are no longer used to such a formal style, nor to sentences which may extend over eight lines at times, even if we are familiar with modern academic style. We can therefore find ourselves either skipping passages, or needing considerable time in order to unravel the argument , as well of course needing to know the context, which in this case was that many had been falsely accusing Calvin. Printing was still in its relative infancy. Books were expensive, and even the printing of leaflets would have been relatively more expensive than today. Much of this expense was in the initial setting up of the page, but paper would also have its own cost. It was therefore common to cram as much as possible onto a page, with writing being in a very small font. There is also the fact that Reformers and the papacy might interpret certain Biblical ideas in very different ways, and unless the source of the pamphlet or image is known it can be hard to know which ideas it is trying to put across. Is the image meant to show Rome as the seat of all evil for instance? Is this what the Reformers were really saying? Were they out to destroy the church or just to bring about necessary change? The language used. Often reformation documents were written in German or in Latin. As well as this there is the matter

Free Argumentative Essays - Homosexuals Should be Allowed to Marry A gay California man, whose partner died in the September 11 terrorist attacks has become "legally vulnerable in ways (he) could never imagine"(Urges 1). Keith Brodowski lost his life partner, Jeff Coleman, to American Airlines flight 11, which was the first plane to hit the World Trade Center. Coleman was a flight attendant. Brodowski is now battling the state and the nation for survivors' benefits, granted to the widows of those who died. It took the powerful words of Brodowski's testimony to move legislation to grant partial inheritance rights for registered domestic partners in California(Lambda 1). Married couples had to go through nothing of this caliper for their benefits. Marcye and Karen Nicholson-McFadden have a child. When the baby was born, they faced a hospital full of staff who refused to acknowledge them as a couple. Now, two years later, they are expecting another child and do not want to face the same trials again. Marital rights would protect their children, their jointly owned business, and their hospital care. Marcye asks "How do we let our children know that our family is as valuable as traditional families even though the government doesn't think so?"(Staiton 1). These are only two examples of troubles facing homosexuals today. In a survey conducted by Partners Task Force for Gay and Lesbian Couples, over fifty percent of lesbians and forty percent of gay men had faced problems obtaining employment benefits, lower tax rates, and insurance breaks because civil unions are not recognized as a legal marriage. Other discriminations included employment, housing, hotels, hospital visitation, adoption, and many more. (Partners 3) These problems could have been eliminated if the couple had been legally recognized as married. In their own eyes, 88% of the women and 56% of the men considered themselves married (Partners 7). Their relationships need to be recognized in the eyes of the law! When a married person dies, his or her spouse is considered the next of kin. This A homosexual's surviving partner does not have that right. Even in cases where wills are present, family members have sued for burial rights, property etc.

Ethnic Minority And The Military - 779 Words
After watching the videos and reading the resources provided I feel that many ethnic minority populations serve in the military for many different reasons. While researching this topic, one particular minority population stood out to me, which is the Latino population. In the ââ¬Å"I Am the Army: American s New Military Caste (Latinos and the Caste System in the US Army)â⬠it is discussed why the Latino population serves in the military, which according to the video is because it is instilled in the children very young to join the military through school visits, recruiting, and the appeal of the future opportunities. According to Sanhezââ¬â¢ (2013), Latinos in the military join for three basic reasons, which include the lack of opportunities to pursue other careers since education is being priced out for many working class people, a tradition of military service in many families, and the appealing masculinity attached to serving. In this study she found that a large percentage of Latinos who have served in the armed forces are children of immigrants, which is another reason military appeal to minorities.
